AEMRC offers a select number of high school students the opportunity to earn service hours during the academic school year, by supporting the Museum with its various projects, programs, and activities.

This opportunity is application based and not guaranteed to all who apply. New applicants accepted annually in September.

Eligibility

All applicants must meet the following criteria:
‍

• A student in 9th-12th grade
  
• Have a school-affiliated sponsor
• Commit to a minimum of 15 hours of volunteer service
  
• Complete a student volunteer agreement contract (emailed after acceptance)
  

Students can volunteer during AEMRC visiting hours on Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday from 11am - 5pm. To receive credit for volunteer hours, each student volunteer must commit to and complete a minimum of 15 hours.

Responsibilities

Student volunteers will engage in tasks that contribute to the following areas at AEMRC:
‍

• Archives (Ex. Conducting research on AEMRC artifacts, assisting with digital and hard copy library cataloging, and/or document preservation. *Note: Volunteers interested in assisting with archival material must have knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office and Google applications.)
  
• Education and Research (Ex. Conducting research on AEMRC artifacts, captioning, and education.)
• Communications and Visitor Engagement (Ex. Photography, graphic design, social media, greeting and interacting with museum patrons, and vlogs/blogs.)
